Exciting Leadership News
You will have seen our exciting announcement yesterday — we have appointed a new Headteacher for September 2026! Our new Headteacher will be Mrs Kirk, who many of you will already know well. With over 20 years of special school experience, Mrs Kirk brings tremendous strengths and deep knowledge of our school. She is very much looking forward to continuing the progress we have made together, building further on our culture of collaboration with families, and ensuring that St Christopher’s remains a fantastic place to be — one that truly empowers our learners to thrive.
Thanks and well done to our expert student interview panel too – Chloe, Nathan, Jake, Ethan – they were all so professional and spoke clearly asking their own questions. The candidates commented on how well they had presented themselves but were tough interviewers!
This morning in assembly we shared the news with the children, who were absolutely delighted!
Oracy & Confidence Workshop
On Tuesday, some of our older learners took part in a brilliant day-long workshop focused on developing oracy and confidence skills — preparing them for the exciting next steps ahead, whether that’s work experience, college, further education or the wider world of work.
The trainer was hugely impressed by our learners’ ability and enthusiasm throughout the day.
Two pupils were awarded Champion Certificates to recognise their outstanding communication, resilience and potential: 🏆 Harry and Drake — well done, guys, we are so proud of you!
Room Changes Coming Soon
As I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, we are planning some significant room moves across the school in the coming weeks, now that our brilliant new four-classroom block is ready to use.
This all kicks off with our official opening on Thursday 14th May.
Following this, a number of classes will begin relocating, as we work to use the school building as logically as possible — with the majority of secondary based upstairs. Your child’s teacher will be in touch to let you know if and when any changes may affect your child, so that we can prepare them as well as possible. We are hoping it will be a smooth and exciting process!
